Haida Gwaii -The Queen Charlotte Islands
Board Island Roamer, a 68’ motor-sailing vessel and cruise the waters of this remote archipelago of Haida Gwaii to see ancient Haida villages, an incredible abundance of wildlife and outstanding wilderness scenery.
We begin our journey exploring the eastern shores of Moresby Island, heading south into the Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve, where we will encounter a wealth of marine wildlife such as humpback whales, porpoise, dolphins, sea lions and maybe even orca. Visit the old Haida villages - a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site - to see the fabulous totem poles.
The towering ‘old-growth’ forests, covered in mossy, emerald greens never cease to amaze, as will the myriad of intertidal creatures found in these nutrient-rich areas. Stop at Hotspring Island for a warm and soothing dip while gazing at the San Christoval Mountain Range. There will be opportunities to explore by kayak throughout our journey and each evening we will anchor in a different secluded bay.
