Cycling in the Loire Valley

Join fellow alumni and friends on our third annual cycling trip, led by Dr. Paul Davenport, Western's President Emeritus.

Discover the extraordinary beauty and fabulous history of the Loire Valley between Tours and Blois, biking through the countryside, tasting the great local wines, and exploring the cities.

Take part in this bike trip in France for alumni and friends, with a brand new route, which includes visits to such world renown chateaux as Loche, Amboise, Chenonceaux, Chaumont-sur-Loire, Chambord, and Cheverny.

Bike an average of 40 km a day, with one exception: an optional 85 km trip to the Zoo Park of Beauval, ranked among the top fifteen zoos of the world.  Stay in lovely three-star hotels in Tours, Amboise, and Blois, with easy access to restaurants, shopping, and cultural attractions.

Cap it all off with three days in Paris, at a beautiful four-star hotel off the Boulevard Saint Germaine, with a night-time Seine River cruise and visits to the Orsay Museum, the Louvre, Montmartre, with lots of free time to explore Paris as you wish.

Pricing is $2790 for two sharing. $3150 for single accommodations.
