Western University announces new Executive Director, Alumni Relations
Western University is pleased to announce that Trista Walker has accepted the position of Executive Director, Alumni Relations. A 10-member search committee, consisting of representatives from Western’s Alumni Association board, its branches and chapters, as well as university administration and staff, chose Walker after a national search and review of candidates was completed.
Ms. Walker brings 11-years experience to the position having been a proud ambassador and trusted leader at Western since 2001. During her time at Western, she developed lasting and meaningful relationships with Western’s alumni and led her team to build and grow successful alumni engagement programs, dynamic regional events and compelling lifelong learning offerings.
“Our work in Alumni Relations is dedicated to taking the best student experience and extending it to create the best alumni experience,” says Ms. Walker. “I think, in the Canadian market, I have one of the most enviable jobs in terms of Alumni Relations because Western alumni are so loyal and they’re very passionate.”
“Through Trista's leadership, Western will be reaching out to all our alumni, providing them with ways to remain engaged with the University, whether that's through life-long learning, career development, networking or opportunities to mentor current and future students,” says Susana Gajic-Bruyea, Associate Vice-President, Alumni Relations and Development at Western.
“We look forward to working with Trista in her new role,” says Robert Collins, President of Western’s Alumni Association Board of Directors. “She brings to her position a wealth of experience, energy and commitment to collaboration that will enhance our services to alumni and support the vital voice of the Alumni Association in Western’s ongoing development.”
